SEPARATION
Oil on canvas 50x50 plus 50x50
This painting was originally conceived on two canvases joined as one. Yet, as it neared completion, I deliberately split it into two pieces—a bold move designed to amplify its meaning. This intentional separation deepens the narrative, symbolizing the delicate interplay between unity and division, and transforming the work into a powerful statement on the beauty of fragmentation

I lost my father two years ago. It was one of the hardest periods of my life, and the only escape that allowed me to move forward was pursuing my lifelong dream of horse riding. Perhaps that’s why horses have become the enduring subjects of my work. This painting is a heartfelt tribute to my separation from my father—a vivid blend of sorrow, nostalgia, and countless cherished moments, rendered across two canvases to mirror the duality of our bond.
Masterfully divided into two parts, the artwork captures the essence of a nostalgic sunset, where two majestic horses stand against a sky set ablaze. In the first panel, a light-colored horse draws near the edge; its eyes reveal a poignant mix of freedom and lingering sadness. In the foreground, a delicate branch of cherry blossoms unfurls, its soft pink petals swirling in the air like echoes of treasured memories.
In the other half, a similarly hued horse retreats into the unknown, its sinuous form symbolizing a journey toward uncharted horizons. The cherry blossoms continue to bloom, though now they appear more scattered and detached, evoking the fragile nature of relationships and the inevitability of separation. The sunset—bathed in warm, fiery tones of orange and red—wraps the scene in an atmosphere of melancholic beauty, perfectly capturing the essence of parting: two souls united by a shared past, yet destined to follow separate paths.
Rich in symbolism and emotional depth, this painting invites you to reflect on the profound interplay of love, loss, and the ephemeral beauty of shared experiences.
